Mrs. Stacy Leimbach

Kindergarten

Mrs. Stacy Leimbach has taught kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School since the 2013-2014 school year and has more than 20 years of teaching experience. Her previous positions at Trinity include teaching physical education and pre-kindergarten as well as serving as a science and resource teacher. She also taught 5th grade in Georgia and PE at another Lutheran school in Lincoln. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Concordia University, NE.

Mrs. Leimbach loves the energy kindergartners bring to her class, and she structures her lessons to actively engage her young students in the learning process. “I'm fueled by excited students eager to learn. I love to laugh with my students and show them my silly side,” she said. She works hard to make each student feel at ease, whether they attended pre-kindergarten or they are completely new to the school setting.

Some highlights of the kindergarten year with Mrs. Leimbach include a field trip to a local pumpkin patch and attending a show at the Lied Center. Kindergartners also partner with fifth grade “buddies” for reading projects and other fun learning activities.

From instruction in phonics and sight words to reading aloud to her class, Mrs. Leimbach especially enjoys teaching reading and language arts. For the 2024-2025 school year, Trinity Lutheran began using the Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum. Mrs. Leimbach has found the new curriculum to be effective and engaging for her students.

In addition to teaching her class the foundations of handwriting, math, and reading skills, Mrs. Leimbach strives to help her students develop a personal relationship with Jesus and Christian values. “I hope they all become young people who prioritize integrity and kindness,” she said. She also strives to have open communication with the families of her students. “Kindergarten parents and students can expect me to be honest. I will love them and encourage them each day. I will support them in their joys and walk with them in their challenges,” she said.

Mrs. Leimbach is not only a teacher at Trinity, but an alumna too, along with her three young-adult daughters. She enjoys supporting Husker volleyball, going on walks with her husband, Jason, who is a math teacher at Lincoln North Star High School, and spending time with family.
