Miss Taylor Adams

Preschool

Miss Taylor Adams has led Trinity Lutheran’s preschool class since the autumn of 2024. Prior to that, she was a teacher’s assistant in Trinity’s early childhood program for three years. She also led summer camp classes for kindergarten through fifth grade students at Trinity for three summers. Miss Taylor has an Associates degree and is working toward her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Miss Taylor strives to begin each day with her class on a positive note. “Something I have implemented to help us start our day is our ‘morning affirmations,’” she said. “The kids will all stand up, wrap their arms around themselves and we say, “I am strong” from Isaiah 40:31, “I am not alone” from Matthew 28:20, “I am important” from 1 Peter 2:9, “I am a child of God” from John 14:6, “I am loved” from Jeremiah 31:3, and “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” from Psalm 139:14. We end our affirmations by saying “beautiful” all together. This is one of my favorite things our class does and helps us to start our day positively!”

Preschoolers grow and develop at a fast pace and Miss Taylor enjoys witnessing these changes. “Over the course of the year, it is so wonderful to see how each child blossoms to become their own person. I love being able to teach independence in the room. One way I do that is through our ‘Zipper Club.’ When children successfully put on their own coat and zip it up on their own, they are able to write their name down on our ‘Zipper Club’ chart. The excitement and joy that this task brings to the children is one of the coolest things to watch and be a part of. This task requires both fine and gross motor skills and we work on both in preschool.”

Trinity’s curriculum also focuses on math, reading, handwriting, as well as social skills. Miss Taylor strives to provide an environment that is conducive to learning. "One thing that has resonated with me is knowing that I can provide a place of consistent love, security, and joy,” she said.

The learning is not limited to the students in Miss Taylor’s class. “Working at Trinity has helped me grow so much as a person and has brought me closer to Jesus. Teaching children about God’s love, showing grace and helping kids grow in His grace is a constant blessing,” she said.

Outside of school Miss Taylor enjoys traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends, and going to the gym. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and trying new foods.
