Pastor Dan Wing
Pastor Wing: I was born in Milwaukee, WI. My parents sacrificed so that my older brother and I could attend Lutheran grade school. After my 8th grade year my family and I moved to Kalispell, MT. It was as a sophomore in high school that I realized I wanted to be a pastor. I attended Concordia University in Seward, NE between 1997 and 2002. I met my wife, Sara in 1997. We were married in June of 2000. I attended the seminary in St. Louis between 2002 and 2006. We have a daughter, Katie (01), a son, Matt (04), and another son, Andy (06). I have served Trinity Lutheran in Navasota, TX (1 year), Immanuel Lutheran in Sweet Springs, MO (11 years), and Trinity Lutheran Lincoln, NE since 2018. I am blessed far more than I could ever deserve.
My favorite Bible verse is “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8
Mr. David Kumm
Principal: My name is Mr. David Kumm and I am the Principal at Trinity Lutheran School. I am married to Sarah Kumm who also works at Trinity as an Aide in the Pre-Kindergarten Room. Together we have two children who attend Trinity. Our son, Trenton attends Lincoln Lutheran and our daughter, Taryn attends Trinity. I enjoy watching, coaching, officiating, and playing sports in my free time.
My favorite Bible verses are Philippians 3:12-14, John 14:27, John 14 – 15:17, Philippians 4:2-23.
Miss Mikayla Higgins
ECE Director: My name is Mikayla Higgins and I am the Early Childhood Education Director. I graduated from Lincoln Lutheran in 2013. I then continued on to Doane and Concordia University in Seward where I graduated with a BA in Psychology and Behavioral Science. I will continue on to get my Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology. I have worked at Trinity Lutheran School for eight years!

Mrs. Stacy Leimbach
Kindergarten Teacher: My name is Stacy Leimbach. I attended Trinity Lutheran School, Lincoln Lutheran, Northeast High School, and Concordia University. I am married to Jason and have three daughters names Hope, Kate, and Keri.

Ms. Crystal Burgess
1st Grade Teacher: My name is Crystal Burgess and I am the first grade teacher at Trinity Lutheran School. I received my Elementary Education degree from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. I am originally from Minden, Nebraska. I enjoy being able to visit my mom and grandfather who still live there. My significant other, Tom, lives here in Lincoln. We have two dogs, a black lab named Lila and Rigley. We enjoy sporting events and cheering on the Huskers! I'm involved in the Lutheran Comfort Dog Program as well. Our church and school have a comfort dog named Priscilla and I spend time as a handler taking her to different community events and working with her at school to comfort those who may have a heavy burden.

Ms. Candace Jurchen
2nd Grade Teacher: My name is Candace Jurchen. I grew up in the Red River Valley in northwestern Minnesota. My family includes my parents, two older brothers, and a younger sister. It was during my high school days that I discovered my love for accompanying choirs and first began playing the organ in worship. I attended Concordia University in Seward and had the wonderful opportunity to visit several countries including Germany and Australia as a member of the A Capella choir. Upon graduation I first took a call as a 4th grade teacher in Rapid City, South Dakota. In 2004 I accepted the call to serve here at Trinity as 2nd grade and music teacher/choir director.

Miss Rachel Hoffman
4th Grade Teacher: My name is Miss Rachel Hoffman. I graduated in May from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln with a degree in elementary education. I did my student teaching in a fourth grade classroom, and I am excited to begin my teaching career in a fourth grade classroom as well. I can’t wait to get to know my students and the families at Trinity, and I am looking forward to a great second year as an elementary school teacher.
Mrs. Karissa Heun
5th Grade Teacher: My name is Karissa Heun and I am the fifth-grade teacher at Trinity Lutheran School. I have been married to my husband Ryan since 2013 and we have been living in Lincoln since then. I am originally from Fremont, Nebraska. I enjoy teaching at Trinity Lutheran School.

Mrs. Renae Lebo
Computer & Technology Teacher: My name is Renae Lebo and I joined the Trinity Lutheran staff and family as a part-time Computer Teacher in the fall of 2016. I previously taught at Lincoln Lutheran from 1999-2002 before staying at home to raise my boys. I am married to Travis and we have two children, Tanner who recently graduated Lincoln Lutheran and Logan, who attends Lincoln Lutheran. I graduated from Concordia University in Seward where I played volleyball and ran track. I am originally from Linn, Kansas.

Mrs. Sheila Ziems
Team Teacher: My name is Sheila Ziems. I've been teaching at Trinity since 1989, when I taught 6th grade. I took some years off to stay home with my 3 kids, Caleb, Rebecca, and Rachel, until they reached 1st grade and am blessed to be back at Trinity as the Team Teacher. I enjoy my 2nd graders when Ms. Jurchen teaches music, as well as my 4/5th math groups and 3-5th Spanish classes. My husband, Lyle, teaches sciences, health, and religion at Lincoln Lutheran. We are so blessed to be a part of the Lutheran community here in Lincoln.

Ms. Bonnie Naber
Librarian: My name is Bonnie Naber. I grew up on a farm near Waco, Nebraska with my two sisters and three brothers. I attended Centennial High School and Concordia Teachers College. I taught in a two-room school in Freeman, South Dakota for two years and in Sioux City, Iowa for one. My last 40+ years have been at Trinity. I retired from teaching in 2022, but continue to be engaged at Trinity by working in the library and running Make & Take.

Mrs. Sarah Kumm
Bumblebee Aide: My name is Sarah Kumm and I am a Bumblebee Toddler Aide. I was born and raised in Lakewood, CO, and am a huge Broncos fan! I have a brother and sister who are younger than me, and we all went to the same Lutheran grade school. My husband, David, is the Principal at Trinity, and we have two children, Trenton and Taryn.
My favorite Bible verse is, "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble, He cares for those who trust in Him" Nahum 1:7.
Mrs. Margeaux Maul
Butterfly Toddler Head Teacher: My name is Margeaux Maul. My husband's name is Grant and we have two children. Koston attends Lincoln Lutheran and Ruby attends Trinity. I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist and work part-time doing that.

Mrs. Lori Sunderman
Butterfly Toddler Aide: My name is Lori Sunderman and I am the Teacher’s Aide for the Butterfly Room. My husband Greg and I have a son, Samuel attends Lincoln Lutheran. During my free time I enjoy crocheting, reading, and baking.

Mrs. Connie Dirks
Preschool: My name is Connie Dirks. I am married to my husband Keith. We have 4 children. My son Noah and his wife Amy have two children, Jacob and Wren. My daughter, Jessica and her husband have two children, Truett and River, with one on the way. My daughter, Christina is married to Cody. We also have a son named Seth. I attended Trinity Lutheran School in Lincoln from 1st grade to 6th.

Mrs. Amber Christensen
Pre-Kindergarten: My name is Amber Christensen and I am the Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Trinity Lutheran School. I started at Trinity Lutheran School in Aug. of 1999. My husband Dan and I have four children, Dylan, Karsyn, Kaylee, and Avery.

Miss Allison Schmeling
Pre-Kindergarten Aide: My name is Allison Schmeling and I am a Pre-Kindergarten Aide. I graduated from Lincoln Lutheran in 2010. I went to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. I graduated in 2014 with a Fisheries and Wildlife Degree and minors in Animal Science & Education. I started working at Trinity in 2011.
I have two favorite Bible Verses. “ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
Mrs. Steph Trutna
Pre-Kindergarten Aid: I am a Teacher’s Aide in the Pre-Kindergarten Room. My husband Derek and I have two children, daughter, Paige, and son, Quinn. I attended UNL. I was a stay at home mom when my children were younger. I have worked at Trinity Lutheran School for three years, but I have been a volunteer and a helper in many roles for 14 years. I am also responsible for the Trinity Lutheran School SCRIP program.

Mrs. Kendra Kristalyn
Administrative Assistant: My name is Kendra Kristalyn and I am the Administrative Assistant at Trinity Lutheran School. My husband, Matt, is a teacher at Lincoln Lutheran and we have two sons, Finn and Ezra who both attend Trinity. I enjoy crafting with the boys, baking, reading, going on road trips and being outside.

Mr. Jesse Soenksen
Properties Manager: My name is Jesse Soenksen and I am the Properties Manager for Trinity Lutheran Church and School. I am the oldest of nine kids, I love playing soccer (most notably with my family), being outdoors, going on road trips, working on cars, and just spending time with my family.

Priscilla Comfort Dog
Comfort Dog: My name is Priscilla Comfort Dog. I came to Trinity Lutheran Church and School a couple of years ago. I live with Mrs. Carolyn Jones. I love working and comforting at Trinity Lutheran Church and School and around the Lincoln community.
