Pastor Dan Wing

Pastor Wing: I was born in Milwaukee, WI. My parents sacrificed so that my older brother and I could attend Lutheran grade school. After my 8th grade year my family and I moved to Kalispell, MT. It was as a sophomore in high school that I realized I wanted to be a pastor. I attended Concordia University in Seward, NE between 1997 and 2002. I met my wife, Sara in 1997. We were married in June of 2000. I attended the seminary in St. Louis between 2002 and 2006. We have a daughter, Katie (01), a son, Matt (04), and another son, Andy (06). I served at Trinity Lutheran in Navasota, TX (1 year),  Immanuel Lutheran in Sweet Springs, MO (11 years), and Trinity Lutheran Lincoln, NE since 2018. I am blessed far more than I could ever deserve.

Mr. David Kumm

Principal: I am married to Sarah, who also works at Trinity as a Teacher’s Aide in the Early Childhood Program. We have been blessed with two children, Trenton and Taryn, who both attend Lincoln Lutheran. Their activities keep us busy. We also enjoy camping, fishing, and  the outdoors as a family. I also enjoy sports in my free time.

Miss Mikayla Higgins

ECE Director: I graduated from Lincoln Lutheran in 2013. I then continued on to Doane and Concordia University in Seward where I graduated with a BA in Psychology and Behavioral Science. I will continue on to get my Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology. I have worked at Trinity Lutheran School for eight years!

Mrs. Stacy Leimbach

Ms. Crystal Burgess

1st Grade Teacher: I received my Elementary Education degree from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.  My significant other, Tom, lives here in Lincoln. We have three dogs. I have taught in Lutheran Schools in Illinois, Arizona, and Nebraska. In 2015 I accepted the call to serve here at Trinity.

Ms. Candace Jurchen

2nd Grade Teacher: I grew up in the Red River Valley in northwestern Minnesota. My family includes my parents, two older brothers, and a younger sister. It was during my high school days that I discovered my love for accompanying choirs and first began playing the organ in worship. I attended Concordia University in Seward and had the wonderful opportunity to visit several countries including Germany and Australia as a member of the A Capella choir. Upon graduation I first took a call as a 4th grade teacher in Rapid City, South Dakota. In 2004 I accepted the call to serve here at Trinity as Second Grade and Music Teacher/Choir Director. In my free time I enjoy playing piano and singing, trying to garden, and being creative!

Mrs. Elke Hamann

3rd Grade Teacher: I grew up in Lincoln and attended Trinity. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and am currently working on my colloquy through Concordia - Bend, OR. I have taught 6th grade at Lincoln Lutheran, 2nd grade at Faith Lutheran, and the last two years I was a para-teacher here at Trinity. I am married to Andrew Hamann who works in the Pannier Biosystems Engineering lab at UNL. We like to travel quiet a bit and we go to Lake Okoboji every chance we get. I also enjoy crafting, attending sporting events (for niece & nephew and everything Husker), and golfing.

Miss Rachel Hoffman

4th Grade Teacher: I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in elementary education. I did my student teaching in a fourth grade classroom, and I am excited to continue my teaching career in a fourth grade classroom as well. I love getting to know my students and the families at Trinity, and I am looking forward to a great year as an elementary school teacher.

Mrs. Karissa Heun

5th Grade Teacher: I grew up in Fremont, Nebraska and went on to college at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. My husband and I have one son and we love watching him grow up. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching volleyball, playing disc golf, and attending sporting events.

Mrs. Renae Lebo

Technology Teacher: I joined the Trinity Lutheran staff and family as a part-time Computer Teacher in the fall of 2016. I previously taught at Lincoln Lutheran from 1999-2002 before staying at home to raise my kids. My husband, Travis and I have two boys, Tanner who attends Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and Logan, who attends Lincoln Lutheran. I graduated from Concordia University in Seward where I played volleyball and ran track.

Mrs. Sheila Ziems

Team Teacher: I’ve been teaching at Trinity since 1989, when I taught 6th grade. I took 10 years off to stay home with my 3 kids, Caleb, Rebecca, and Rachel, until my youngest reached 1st grade. I am blessed to be back at Trinity as the Team Teacher. I enjoy my 2nd graders when Miss Jurchen teaches music, as well as my 4th/-5th Spanish classes. My husband, Lyle, teaches sciences, health, and religion at Lincoln Lutheran. We both graduated from Concordia, Seward where I played volleyball and he played football. We are so blessed to be a part of the Lutheran community here in Lincoln.

Ms. Bonnie Naber

Librarian: I grew up on a farm near Waco, Nebraska with my two sisters and three brothers. I attended Centennial High School and Concordia Teachers College. I taught in a two-room school in Freeman, South Dakota for two years and in Sioux City, Iowa for one. My last 40+ years have been at Trinity. I retired from teaching in 2022, but continue to be engaged at Trinity by working in the library and running Make & Take.

Butterfly Toddler Aide: I grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska and we moved to Lincoln in 2011. My husband Gregory and I have one son, Samuel, who attended Trinity Lutheran School K-5 and now is at Lincoln Lutheran. During his time at Trinity, I volunteered in many capacities including assisting in the library and serving as Secretary of PTL. During my free time I enjoy crocheting, reading, baking, and love making many projects for home and school with my Cricut.

Pre-Kindergarten Aid: My husband Derek and I have two children, daughter Paige and son Quinn. I attended UNL. I was a stay at home mom when my children were younger. I have worked in Pre-K at Trinity Lutheran School for 7 years, but I have been a volunteer and a helper in many roles for about 15 years. I am also responsible for the Trinity Lutheran School SCRIP program.

Mrs. Bethany Gebers

Director of Christian Outreach: I am the oldest of five children, and love spending time with my family. I graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul with a major in Christian Ministry and minors in Dance and Lutheran Theology. When I'm not at the church or school, I can often be found curled up in a chair with a blanket and a book. Other activities I enjoy are playing games, a variety of craft projects, and going on adventures around the city! Some of my favorite things about being a Director of Christian Outreach are hearing stories of hope and love from places and people often overlooked and helping people use their gifts and passions to love and serve others.

Mrs. Jennifer Obrist

Extended School Day Staff: My name is Jennifer Obrist. My mom Susan Boeschen works at Trinity Lutheran School. My brother, Hans works at a private school in South Carolina with his wife, Lou. My sister, Emilia works as a professor at Black Hills State University in South Dakota and her husband, Mark is in school working on his engineering degree and does construction work. I have worked at Trinity Lutheran School for over 10 years. When I am not working I enjoy watercolor painting or drawing and hanging out with my friends.
