Around this time last year, I was working on developing the format for something I hoped to launch in 2022, Trinity’s Outreach of the Month highlight. Together with Pastor Wing, Ruth, Margaret, and others, we brainstormed names, ways to share information with the congregation, and what organizations to highlight. Now, looking back at the Outreach of the Month over the past 11 months, I am so thankful for all the ways God provided, and how Trinity has responded to this new venture.
Since January 2022, Trinity has learned about, prayed for, collected donations for, and donated to eleven different ministries serving our community here in Lincoln. The organizations we supported were:
- January: Forward
- February: Atlas
- March: I’ve Got a Name
- April: Priscilla Comfort Dog Ministry
- May: Trinity Lutheran School ECE
- June: Fresh Start
- July: We Can Do This
- August: City Impact
- September: Trinity Lutheran School
- October: Common Threads
- November: Por Nosotros (ESL classes)
Altogether we donated over $9,000 to these organizations and the work they do in our community. We attended or served at eight different events, and donated hundreds of items to groups like Forward, Fresh Start, and We Can Do This.
None of this would have been possible without your enthusiasm, suggestions, and support! Thank you for trying something new and being open to learning about the amazing ways God is working through other people and organizations right around us in Lincoln. I’m excited to share more organizations with you in 2023 and continuing uplifting and supporting those from this year! Serve
Many of the organizations we highlighted have ways to serve throughout the year!
- Forward – we are always looking for one or two more volunteers to join our team, especially on the first Monday of the month! If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Bethany
- Atlas – There are a variety of ways you can volunteer with Atlas including being a mentor or joining their prayer team! For more information visit their website at https://www.atlaslincoln.org/volunteer.html
- I’ve Got a Name – I’ve got a name is hosting a conference about human trafficking in Lincoln on August 5, 2023. They are looking for help leading up to the conference in a variety of ways. For more information contact Bethany.
- Common Threads – Common Thread’s studio is open multiple times a week for volunteers to come and work on projects. To learn when the studio is open email Wendyofcommonthreads@gmail.com
