Trinity Lutheran School has been in the ministry of teaching God’s children for over 135 years! When you enter our east campus, you will see hanging in our hallway a number of certificates recognizing that fact. One of them is a “Certificate of Approval” from the Nebraska Department of Education. This is a year-to-year approval from the Nebraska State Board of Education. We have a number of requirements that need to be followed and approved according to the Rule # 14 state guidelines. Another certificate shows we have been approved for national accreditation from the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) in recognition of a first-rate quality program of Christian education (now in two areas). Our K-5th (Kindergarten through 5th grade) program was renewed for the next five years as a NLSA accredited school. Our ECE (Early Childhood Education) was also approved for accreditation in the NLSA. They are working on a five year plan as a NLSA accredited Child Care. Both of these recognitions are due to many, many, many hours of work by your Teachers, Staff, School Board members, Congregational members, and Parents of Trinity Lutheran Church & School.

Our Early Childhood Education (ECE) program begins and 18 months and goes through Pre-Kindergarten. We have four different class offerings.

Extended School Day Childcare (ESD)

Extended School Day childcare (ESD)

Children may be brought into the school by their parents or guardians as early as 7:00 a.m. and be picked up as late as 5:45 p.m. Any family who wants/needs to use this service can sign up on an as needed basis.  ESD staff is available every day that we have school before and after school.

Before school care is supervised by two adults and runs from 7:00 a.m to 8:05 a.m.  Children who arrive in the morning are given the opportunity to play box games, draw pictures, do puzzles, work on school work, or talk quietly with their friends.  At 8:05 a.m. the children are dismissed to their classes. 

After school care runs from 3:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.  We provide children with the opportunity to play outside or in the gym, play games, and work on homework.  Older students have a scheduled homework time from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  A staff member is available to help students with homework during this time.  A snack and juice are served to all ESD students at 4:00 p.m. 

 

ESD rates:

ESD is included in the tuition rate for Early Childhood children who attend full days. 

The following rates apply for any child in Kindergarten – 5th grade or for Early Childhood children who do not attend full days:

Before school care (7:00-8:05 a.m.) – flat rate of $6.00

After school care (3:15 to 5:45 p.m.) - $6.50/hr. (charged by the minute)

 

Non-School Day Child Care

All day childcare is offered on non-school days with the exception of major holidays and special days as shown on the school calendar. Child care is provided from 7:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.  Activities such as games, crafts projects, cooking projects, field trips and movies are provided on these days.  Children must be pre-registered in ordered to participate.  Sign-up is done online prior to the non-school day.  Child care is not offered when school is canceled due to inclement weather, poor road conditions or other emergencies determined by the principal.

Non School Day rates

Early Childhood students:

Non School Days are included only if the Non School Day occurs on the child’s regularly scheduled school day.  If the Non School Day occurs on a day that the child would not normally be in school then a $30.00 fee will apply.  You must still sign up for every Non School Day by the deadline given to ensure adequate staffing on those days.   If not signed up, a $30.00 fee will apply.

 

Kindergarten – 5th grade students:

$35.00/day (there are no part-time or hourly rates available for Non School Days)

How Old to Children Have to Be to Attend Summer Camp?

Trinity Lutheran School Offers Summer Camp Each Summer for Children ages 18 months - finishing 6th grade and will be divided into appropriate age groups.

When Does Summer Camp Take Place and What are the Hours?

Summer Camp is offered Monday—Friday, 7:00 am—5:45 p.m. usually beginning the Wednesday after school lets out and ending the Friday before the next school year begins. We are closed Memorial Day, and July 4th.

Do I Have to Sign My Child Up for Every Week of Summer Camp?

No, you are able to select the weeks that your child will be attending. Please note: Your child must be signed up for each week in order to attend!  Notice must be given to the Director (Melissa Green) ONE FULL WEEK PRIOR in order to add or cancel a week.  You must be in contact (phone, in person, email) with Mrs. Green to get approval.  You will only be allowed to add a week if space permits. 

Do I Have To Bring a Lunch For My Child?

Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided to each child.
