We are the Singing School

President Gerald Ford once said “Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them – a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.”

At Trinity Lutheran School we feel that Music Education is essential to educating the whole child. We offer music classes and two choirs to ensure that students are having exposure to such a wonderful art form. Toddlers – 5th Grade participate in Music Class twice a week. In addition, Kindergarten – 5th Grade students participate in choir twice a week. When people think of Trinity Lutheran School, our music program often comes to mind.

Music Classes

Students of all ages have the opportunity to learn and experiment with different instruments. Students learn a variety of songs including religious and secular. Our 4th Grader students learn to play the recorder. Additionally, students in our Elementary School learn to read music.

Choirs

Our choirs, God’s Little Love Bugs (ECE), and Trinity Singers (K-5) sing at different Chapel services throughout the year, at Worship services at Trinity Lutheran Church, and at our annual Christmas Program, Spring Musical and other special events.

God’s Little Love Bugs choir is a choir that all toddlers – Pre-K students are in.  They learn about singing and to share their love of Jesus through song.

The Trinity Singers choir is for all Kindergarten – 5th Grade students. The Trinity Singers share God’s love through song at Chapels, programs, and community events. The Trinity Singers have performed all over Lincoln for a variety of activities including:

  • Singing the National Anthem at Lincoln Stars Hockey Games & Lincoln Lutheran Basketball Games
  • Singing for the People’s City Mission’s Starry Night Christmas Tree Festival
  • Singing at the Nebraska State Capitol’s Christmas Tree Lighting
  • Singing for nursing homes and assisted living facilities
