Lutheran Education

Lutheran Schools have been providing quality Christian Education since 1847 when the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) was formed.  Twelve churches operated nineteen schools at that time.  Today the LCMS operates the largest Protestant school system in the United States.  Currently there are more than 1,200 Early Childhood Centers and Preschools that serve more than 87,000 children.  Additionally, 880 Elementary Schools serve approximately 113,000 students.

Lutheran Schools:

  • Partner with parents in providing a safe and secure learning climate and environment which allows students to grow and mature.
  • Are driven by a commitment to the Gospel and focused on a mission of bringing hope and healing to students and families.
  • Meet and exceed state and national academic standards.
  • Help to develop a minimum of 30 developmental assets in children.
  • Have educators who model servant leadership.

The Trinity Advantage

Trinity Lutheran School seeks to partner with parents and support them in their God given responsibility to raise their children.  We believe that each child who enters our building is a precious Child of God.  We seek to serve the whole child and are aware of each child’s social, emotional, physical, academic and spiritual needs.

Trinity Lutheran School has been serving children and their families for 135 years.  The teachers at Trinity represent over 200 years of teaching experience.  The teachers commit to ongoing professional development and actively engage in state and national conferences, workshops, webinars, sharing and discussing best practices based on research and individual reading of current professional articles.

Trinity is an accredited school through the National Lutheran School Accreditation agency.  Trinity is also a Nebraska State Board of Education Approved School.  A self-study that was completed by over 50 stakeholders including parents, teachers and congregational leaders and members during the 2016/2017 school year.  The evidence based self-study identified areas of strength and areas for opportunity for growth.  A school action plan with 31 goals was developed and will be implemented over the next four years.  The purpose of the entire accreditation process is to continually improve the educational experience and instruction delivered to our students.

Music is important at Trinity and all students attend music and choir.  Students are given a chance to share their musical talents at our weekly chapel services, annual musical programs and occasional special assemblies that parents are invited to attend.   Students have also performed in the community at events including singing at local churches,  the national anthem at a Lincoln Stars Hockey game and the Governor’s Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Capitol.

We invite you to visit Trinity and find out more about the many programs and events that students and their families enjoy each year.  We look forward to partnering with parents in developing each child’s individual academic potential while caring for their social, emotional and spiritual needs.
